Cole McKinley is a cybersecurity and compliance leader and the CTO of USX Cyber ® , where he leads the engineering behind Guardient ® , a unified XDR, SOC-as-a-service, and GRC platform.

His work sits at the intersection of security operations and governance, building detection, automation, and monitoring capabilities that also generate the evidence organizations need to satisfy frameworks such as CMMC and the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Cole has developed control implementation programs, policy architectures, and managed detection and response capabilities for organizations across regulated industries, including the defense sector.

He brings a background in military cyberspace operations, having served with the Air Force National Guard's cyber mission. A strong advocate for open-source security, he believes transparent, community-driven tooling is the most effective way to make rigorous security and compliance accessible to organizations of every size.
