"I've came from offensive background and came familiar with Wazuh in CTF challenge which happened on National level in Pakistan. I wasn't involved much them in detection but due to my tools & software usage for over 20 years, I became familiar quite easily with Wazuh and navigated my way around it, leading to winning that CTF. Moreover, after couple of months, I got a new job where they were using Wazuh and that's where I practiced and got familiarized with Wazuh in depth. My overall offensive skills also improved due to Wazuh as I came to know how SIEM works and how we can bypass certain rules. My detection skills also improved over the passage of time unknowingly where I did Penetration Testing as I already knew multiple attack scenarios, bypasses, way arounds, etc. The thing I liked about Wazuh was, you can ingest logs from multiple sources, write custom rules and decoders to parse rules and set trigger mechanisms based on that. Due to open source SIEM, the imagination for doing anything custom on Wazuh is limitless. Ah, almost forgot the community work and their support, which certainly helps with already developed rules, making them plug-and-play."
