My name is Fredy Alvarez and I am currently SOC – Manager at UACJ (Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez).

I have over 10 years of experience in IT. I am currently completing the implementation of the SOC at UACJ, where I use Wazuh as a core component. I am about to obtain my Master’s degree in cloud computing, focused on Cybersecurity. I am a true believer in Open Source and a Maker at heart, and I am passionate about electronics and physical computing.

I am starting a PhD in advanced engineering sciences, where I intend to generate knowledge and create a source of threat intelligence focused on what happens in my country, applying Machine Learning and Big Data techniques.

My purpose as a Wazuh ambassador will be to support with my learning and mistakes so that everyone who likes Cybersecurity knows the wonder that is Wazuh compared to commercial tools.
